How to watch Netflix in Austria?

Do you live in Austria and want to make a subscription to Netflix? Or do you have a Netflix subscription in the UK or maybe in the United States and would like to watch it while in Austria, but you are unable because Netflix tells you that their services are unavailable at your location?

This is a very typical question we receive from our readers and from travelers coming to Austria. Luckily there are tons of websites out there explaining how to watch Netflix from abroad, so instead of inventing the wheel over again, we would rather recommend that you go ahead and visit one of the following article:

To sum up the contents of the two sites, the goal is to get an IP address in the nation where you want to watch Netflix. Since you are searching on this content in English, you probably want to sign up for a Netflix account in either the UK, in Ireland, in USA or in Canada. To do so you need an IP in one of those nations. If you already have a Netflix account, it is important that you get an IP address in the same nation as in which you have your already running Netflix account.

To watch Netflix in Austria

To watch Netflix in Austria we recommend that you sign up for a Netflix account in the UK. That is easy and works great and all you need is a UK IP address. We recommend that you use a VPN provider to get such an IP address and one of the best VPN providers on the market is HideMyAss. They run their services from the UK, meaning that the company behind the product do their uttermost to give all users the best service possible in the nation in which they are actually located, in the UK. Their services can therefore warmly be recommended if you are looking for a UK IP address.

You can now sign up for a free 30 day trial and enjoy the full register of programs and shows available in the Netflix system.

Some thoughts on our stay in The Levante Laudon

This is a letter form some of our readers where they share their thoughts on their stay in The Levante Laudon. If you have any inputs, feel free to write a comment!

A guest review of The Levante Laudon

We stayed in The Levante Laudon earlier this year, in October. We came as a family, two adults and two children. What we really liked with this apartmant hotel was the brilliant location, quite near famous locations such as Rathausplatz and the famous Cafe Landtmann. Upon arrival everything went perfect, we got the key to our room and headed of to check it out. The elevator was quite small, so we had to carry our baby wagon up the stairs, but that was not really a big problem since we lived in the first floor.

Our apartmant was very cheap compared to other apartments in Vienna, but I guess that was because it was nights from Tuesday to Wednesday and from Wednesday to Thursday, which in general are much cheaper than weekends. The living room was not a giant, but worked perfectly for the purpose and the sleeping room as well. The kitchen was well equipped, so for such a short stay we had everyting we needed in the kitchen. The bathroom was also nice, so it must be said that we were very satisfied with both the look of the interior and everything. It could of course be bigger, but considering the fact that it is Vienna we are speaking about at such a central location, a price of 80-90 Euro per night is nothing for such an apartmant.

Levante Laudon in Vienna review
Picture from the reception area of Levante Laudon

Some other nice stuff in The Levante Laudon was the fact that we could order a fruit basket which waited for us in the room upon arrival. They had free WiFi which was easy to use. I know beforehand that open wireless networks are not always the safest to use, because there might be people sniffing for your personal data out there, and if you use an open wireless network without any encryption, that can easily be done, so I used a VPN provider named HideMyAss instead and connected to their server in Austria. In that way I encrypted my data and could surf safely, even in a public open network like the one in The Levante Laudon. But, brilliant the fact that they had WiFi available in the hotel, and it worked well… easy to connect and quick connection, so do not forget to bring your laptop or mobile device as you stay here.

All in all we left the apartmanthotel very satisfied. The price was good, the interior looked like and we can warmly recommend this place to others coming to Vienna in need of an apartmant. To use the free WiFi, the extra room where our children could sleep and the central location was what made us decide for this place in the first time, and if we return to Vienna some other time we might make the same decision again.

Five attractions not to miss in Vienna

You probably know, the capital of Austria, Vienna is one of the most outstanding cultural centers at the Middle European area besides Budapest. There are lots of beautiful buildings, fantastic restaurants, lovely coffee shops and amazing museums too in Vienna. Maybe a one month holiday isn’t enough either to see everything perfectly. But we want you to fully utilize your time in Vienna. Because of that, we have made this little list for you, about the in our opinion most important attractions, to give you more information.

The first in our compilation is the Hofburg Imperial Palace. This is the residence of the president today, but it is useful information that it was the winter residence of the Habsburg royal family. At Hofburg you have the chance for sightseeing tour with horse carriage, what makes a simple tour to a romantic experience. Near to the Palace there are a horse stable and riding school, museums and treasury.

Hofburg

There was a winter residence, so it is sure that there was a summer residence too. It was the Schönbrunn Castle. The palace is huge, it has 1400 rooms. At the castle’s territory there are lots of interesting things, for example the Gloriette, a botanic garden, the world’s oldest ZOO, the car museum, several chapels and wells and a labyrinth too.

The third attraction on our list is the Belvedere Palace, what was built by Eugen von Savoyen. The garden around the castle is very similar to the Versailles Castle in France; even one of the gardeners is from Versailles. If you want a bit of France in the middle of the Austrian capital, you definitely should visit it.

The next point in our compilation is the Parliament. This enormous and beautiful building is easily recognizable. There is a beautiful Pallas Athena statue in front of the Parliament. The whole thing is gold-plated, elegant and dignified. If you want to see it inside, you have the chance. You can get more information about the guided tours’ timetable if you click here.

The last, what we want to talk about is the Stephansdom. The gothic dome got its name after the first martyr, Stephen. You can see the church inside too; moreover, it is available to go up one of its towers. It is only 300 steps, and you can see one of the most breathtaking views in your life: the panorama in Vienna. The highest tower of the Stephansdom is 135 meters tall, and its biggest bell is more than 20 tons.

These five listed attractions naturally just a little part of the Austrian capital’s famous places, but it could help you during a shorter vacation in Vienna.

Unfortunately, there isn’t more space for the museums on this list, but if you click here, you can read about them. If you want to complete your sightseeing tour with other funny things, click here and know more about those five things, what you have to try in Vienna! Have fun!

Those who visit the Kärntner Strasse, can find fantastic stores, however mostly the luxury shops have got places here. 5. Carriage Ride

This could be the perfect choice for sightseeing for the lovers of old school romanticism. You can jump up a carriage and meet the attractions of Vienna in this classic way. For those who want “hail” a carriage, the best place is the Hofburg Imperial Palace. You can visit around the Austrian president’s residence, the old winter palace, the Hofburg with the carriage. We warmly recommend this opportunity for everybody who isn’t afraid of horses!

Naturally, there are thousand activities in the Austrian capital, but we have chosen these five to make a special day for you, your family, friends or partner in the beautiful capital of Austria, Vienna. Have a great time!

From Monet to Picasso – The Batliner Collection

The most famous museum in the capital of Austria, Vienna is admittedly the Albertina Museum, where better and better temporary and permanent exhibitions welcome visitors. Unusually the Monet to Picasso fantasy named exhibition is seeable out of the Albertina between 20 September 2013 and 10 December 2013; one half is available at the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, the other half is loaned to Eremitage St. Petersburg.

Naturally the two great artists’ masterpieces are not the only what we can see on the exhibition, there are other monumental painters’ works between the exhibited objects. Art lovers can see for example Renoir’s, Cézanne’s, Modigliani’s, Matisse’s, Kirchner’s and other incredibly talented painters’ works too.

The collection got its name after the collectors, Herbert and Rita Batliner. Batliners started collecting around half hundred years ago. The couple fell in love with French artists’ works during collecting, the most frequent pieces are Pablo Picasso’s masterpieces; the Batliner Collection contains around 40 Picasso works. Batliners often loaned the rich collection to different museums, and a few years ago they have decided to present the whole collection to the Albertina Museum.

The Batliner Collection, what is visiting now the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and the Eremitage St. Petersburg between 20 September 2013 and 10 December 2013 is totally worth to see, when you are in Vienna at the same time.

Matisse exhibition at the Albertina

The capital of Austria, Vienna is one of the most outstanding centers of culture and art in Middle Europe. We can say that the Austrian capital’s most important museum is the Albertina Museum. The famous institution in Vienna has several temporary and permanent exhibitions; the Matisse exhibition belongs to the first version. It is available between 20 September 2013 and 12 January 2014 and it shows Matisse’s and his contemporaries, the fauvists’ works on a high level.

Henri Matisse and his partners showed up at the 3rd Autumn Salon in Paris with rough-and-ready, but very colorful paintings. In 1905 art lovers’ critics weren’t too positive, the works of Matisse and his friends actually shocked the audience instead it have impressed them. We can origin the expression, fauves or wild animals from this shock, after that the name of the style was born from it: fauvism. Nevertheless, modern painting would be very different from what we can see today without fauvism; moreover it was the 20th century’s first avant-garde endeavor.
The exhibition in the Albertina is unique in every way, because it’s not only the first time, you can see Matisse’s and his contemporaries’ works in the Austrian capital, but this is the first time, the whole Middle European area can enjoy fauvists’ interesting masterpieces.

Besides Henri Matisse visitors can see André Derain’s, Maurice de Vlaminck’s, Georges Braque’s and Kees van Dongen’s fantastic paintings too. If you are in Vienna between 20 September 2013 and 12 January 2014, you couldn’t skip the Albertina Museum and Matisse’s and the fauvists’ amazing exhibition.
