Wien exhibitionThe exhibition ‘Realms of Imagination: Albert Altdorfer and the Expressivity of Art around 1500’ will be shown at the Kunsthistorisches Museum from the middle of March to the middle of June in 2015.

This major exhibition focuses on the most beautiful and striking paintings north of the Alps. The exhibition shows paintings from the 1500 and the most amazing pieces of the Renaissance. At the exhibition visitors will have the chance to get to know Albert Altdorfer and his art works as well as other outstanding painters’ works such as Wolf Huber or Master IP. Albert Altdorfer was a German Renaissance painter and architect who was born in c. 1480 and he died in 1538. Along with Wolf Huber and Lucas Cranach the Elder were the main representatives of the famous Danube School so at the exhibition visitors will have the chance to have a closer look on the pictures of the school as well. The exhibition on the most beautiful Renaissance paintings will be held at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna from 17th March 2015 to 14th June 2014. The opening hours of the museum from June to August: it is open every day from 10 am to 6pm except on Thursday when it is open from 10 am to 9 pm. From September to May the museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm except on Thursday when is it open from 10 am to 9 pm.

Romantic ViennaThe capital city of Austria is Vienna which is known as one of the most romantic places in Europe. Vienna gives home to several attractions, programs and events, to nice restaurants and countless museums, pubs and parks as well. So in this article we will give some advice which are the most romantic places and where to go on a visit in Vienna.

Our favourite place from our list is the Cafe Sacher. The Cafe Sacher is cafe house from the 19th century and it is definitely one of the most romantic places in the city. The cafe house has excellent cakes and desserts.

If you like ferris wheel then a ride on the Riesenrad Ferris Wheel is one of the best program you can attend. It is a perfect opportunity to check the city from a brand new perspective as you have never seen before. The ferris wheel can be found at the famous Prater Park of the city.

If you like spending time in the nature, having a long walk or a picnic then the perfect place for you to go is the Schloss Schönbrunn. What could be more romantic than having a nice and relaxing picnic in the garden of the beautiful baroque Schloss Schönbrunn?!

Sturtevant exhibition

Sturtevant in AlbertinaFor the very first time an exhibition on Sturtevant will be shown at the Albertina Museum. Sturtevant was an American painter who is best known for appropriation art.

This will be the first major exhibition on the art works of Sturtevant at the Albertina Museum and in total 100 different drawings, prints, images and paintings will be shown for the visitors. The art works present the the artist’s creative process mostly the period between 1964 and 2004. At the exhibition visitors can have a closer look on the 80 drawings which are exhibited the first time and discover more on the remarkable work of Sturtevant. Sturtevant started her career in 1965 and the drawings from this period of time help to understand the process and the motivation the artist had. All the works of Sturtevant are copies of other artist and she mainly focused on the works of the American artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Jasper Johns and Andy Warhol.

The exhibition Sturtevant: Drawing Double Reversal will take place at the Albertina Museum in Vienna from 14th February to 10th May in 2015.

Vienna Marathon 2015

Vienna MArathon 2015The Vienna City Marathon will take place again in the middle of April in 2015 which is considered one of the best races in Europe.

Vienna is the capital and also the largest city of Austria. Vienna is the most important cultural, economic and political city of Austria and it also gives home to several organisations and events through the whole year. Every year the city offers the best programs, activities such as concerts, markets and marathons. This year in April the annual Vienna City Marathon will be back in town again. The Vienna Marathon leads through the most beautiful historical and cultural attractions in the city.

The route of the marathon starts at the new and modern part of the city right at the United Nations Building then the runners cross the Reichsbrucke bride and the famous river Danube. The race then continues in the historical city passing the most beautiful spots in the city including the City Park, Vienna State Opera, the Green Market, Vienna Theatre, Museum of Technology, the Parliament, Votiv Church, Lusthaus and several other spots in the city until the route finally ends at Heldenplatz. This year the Vienna City Marathon will be held on 12th April and the race will start at 9 in the morning. The registration to the marathon costs € 65 and the registration deadline is on 27th March.

Emperor Charles V Captures Tunis

The exhibition ‘Emperor Charles V Captures Tunis’ is shown at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna until the end of September in 2015.

At the exhibition visitors have the chance to recall a little piece of history through various paintings. The exhibition shows the documentary on the war to reconquer the Kingdom of Tunis from the Ottomans and the Tunis Cartoons are in the main focus at the exhibition. Visitors can explore the ten monumental cartoons of the war by Jan Cornelisz Vermeyen and at the exhibition visitors can discover even more on the war and on the history through the beautiful art works of Jan Cornelisz Vermeyen and another Flemish painter, Pieter Coecke van Aelst. Each of the cartoons show the details and one or two events of the campaign.

The ‘Emperor Charles V Captures Tunis’ takes place at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in the capital city of Austria in Vienna. The exhibition is held from 7th May 2013 to 20th September 2015. The museum June to August is open from every day from 10 am to 6 pm except on Thursday when it is open from 10 am to 9 pm. From September to May the museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm and on Thursday it is open from 10 am to 9 pm.

Comprehensive exhibition in Vienna 2015

Albertina WienThe dream archive from the Musèe d’Orsay will visit the Albertina Museum for a few weeks and make it possible to the visitors to explore some of the most beautiful art works of the different artists and at the exhibition visitors will also have the chance to discover the most outstanding and most popular artists of the French art.

The visitors will have a comprehensive picture on the different forms of art through the various paintings shown at the exhibition. At the exhibition over 130 masterpieces will be presented to the visitors including some of the biggest names of art such as Paul Cèzanne, François Millet, Giovanni Segantini, Renoir, Maillol and so on. At the exhibition various forms of art will be also shown through the colourful works of symbolism and impressionism. At the exhibition drawings, chalk sketches and paintings will be shown to the visitors who can explore the different styles and eras of art and how it changed through the years and centuries.

The exhibition “the dream archive” from the Musèe d’Orsay will take place at the Albertina Museum in the capital city of Austria in Vienna from 30th January to 3rd May in 2015.

The annual Opera Ball in Vienna will be held again in the middle of February in 2015. The Opera Ball is one of the most popular and known events in Vienna which is held each year in the building of the Vienna State Opera.

The dress code for the ball is evening dress which means white tie and tails for men and full length/ floor length ballgowns for women. The ball is dating back for long, the first Opera Ball in Vienna was held in 1936 but it was suspended during the World War II but after the war it has been annually held.

The Opera Ball attracts many people from all over the world and even some of the famous people has attended the event such as Sophia Loren, Carmen Electra, Geri Halliwell, Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton. In 2015 Milky Chance, Katy Perry, Usher, Sting, Charlie Winston, One Direction, Roxette, Nickelback and many others will be on stage in Vienna through the year. Every year when the weather cools down and Christmas is just around the corner the various Christmas markets appears at the different spots of the city.

In 2015 the dates of the Christmas markets are not confirmed yet but the markets open their gates usually in the last weeks of November and they are open until the end of December or the beginning of January.
