Stadthalle is the venue in which the most important concerts in Vienna are arranged. Throughout the entire year you can witness great artists and amazing concerts here. The venue is located in the 15th district of Vienna, and has capacity for 16,000 people. The venue was designed by Roland Rainer and was built between 1953 and 1958. In total the venue has six different halls, some for gymnastics, one for ice skating, one for smaller concerts, one for swimming and so on.
The swimming pool only came as an expansion to the original venue in 1974. Today it is most famous for the annual tennis tournament named Bank Austria-TennisTrophy that is arranged here. But, first of all it is known as a super concert venue, where the biggest concerts in Vienna are arranged, except from those arranged at the Ernst-Happel Stadium.
